Know the process
Domain transfer policy.
Every acquisition requires explicit terms and a transfer process suited to the domain’s registrar and status. This page explains what should be confirmed; it is not itself a sale agreement.
1. Confirm the listing and proposed terms
Contact acquisition@appvault.app with the exact domain name. Request current availability, asking price, registrar information, renewal costs, and any proposed included assets. A listing or inquiry does not guarantee availability or reserve the name.
2. Verify control and eligibility
Before payment, establish the seller’s control and determine whether the handover involves a same-registrar change or an inter-registrar transfer. Confirm any locks, restrictions, and required steps with the relevant registrars. Do not assume a fixed timetable or an exemption from a transfer restriction.
ICANN’s transfer FAQs explain common rules and limitations. Registrar procedures and individual circumstances control the actual handover.
3. Document payment and completion conditions
Agree in writing on the price, fee allocation, payment method, transfer responsibilities, included assets, and the conditions for completion. Discuss refund, cancellation, and dispute arrangements before committing; this site does not set transaction-specific terms for those matters.
If an escrow service is agreed, confirm its identity, fees, verification rules, and release conditions independently. AppVault does not operate an escrow service and does not collect payment through this website. Escrow availability is not guaranteed by a listing.
4. Follow the registrar’s process
Complete the registrar’s required authorizations through verified channels. Do not send passwords or authorization codes to unverified recipients. Coordinate any DNS and hosting changes separately so website and email services are not unintentionally interrupted.
5. Confirm control and ongoing costs
Check the domain in the buyer’s intended registrar account, confirm registrant details, and verify renewal settings and fees. A domain registration requires ongoing renewal. For .app website use, arrange HTTPS and a valid TLS certificate before launch.
Additional planning
Review the domain transfer checklist for due diligence and continuity planning. The premium buying guide explains naming, costs, and trademark considerations. A domain transfer does not provide trademark clearance or regulatory approval.
